The Nike Footscape Utility Pack

The Nike Air Footscape can easily be called one of the most technical shoes from the 90`s. Nike went far and beyond with its Sports Research Lab and Advanced Product Engineering group to create something new. Toren Orzeck the man behind the design of this shoe from 1996, also responsible for out-of-the-ordinary silhouettes like the Air Moc, felt a shoe is needed that shows the anatomical shape of the foot, a form-fitting shoe so to speak.  To relieve stress from the dorsal area of the foot, Toren came up with the idea to implement an asymmetrical lacing system. From this point on, the original Nike Air Footscape served as the model for many alterations to come, such as the Nike Air Footscape Mid in a Utility Green colorway. This version is something new from Nike combining the classic Footscape aesthetic with a tech-wear upgrade. The neoprene bootie upper reaches high up to the ankle providing stability, while the lightweight material is kept together with the signature asymmetrical lacing. In contrast to the polka-dot grey upper comes a green/khaki suede panel on the toe box. The heel is wrapped by a black heel-support and a pull tab for extra support all sitting comfortably on a white classic chunky midsole enabling the wearer for all-terrain expeditions.
